ATTENTION: For this new FWCloud release a version of Node.js equal to or higher than 20 is required.
These are the new modules versions:
- FWCloud-API 2.4.0
- FWCloud-UI 2.4.0
- FWCloud-Websrv 2.0.5
- FWCloud-Updater 2.0.4
FWCloud 2.4.0 delivers major improvements in security, auditing, and overall performance.
- OpenVPN 2FA support with full UI and API integration, QR-based enrollment, and script-based authentication.
- Advanced audit logs covering HTTP requests and internal processes (cron, workers, CLI, imports), with powerful filtering, persistence options, and archive management
- IPSec improvements with better validation and legacy compatibility.
- IPSec client support for different profiles (site-to-site, roadwarrior, custom, etc.).
- Improvements in route tables and routing policy management.
- New plugins support (IRQ Balance and OpenVPN 2FA).
- Node.js compatibility control with clearer update/install checks.
- Upgraded core stack (Angular, PrimeNG, NgRx, TypeScript, ESLint).
- UI & performance enhancements, including optimized policy tables and improved consistency.
- Key bug fixes across OpenVPN, IPSec, dependencies, and build stability.
- Upgraded Angular framework to the latest versión.
Update procedure
For DEB/RPM packages based Linux distributions simply update the FWCloud-API and FWCloud-UI packages by means of your Linux distribution package management tools.
To update Docker containers when new versions of FWCloud are available follow the next instructions published in the corresponding section of the FWCloud website.
For the FWCloud-Installer script installations, the next time you access your FWCloud platform by means of the web user interface, a popup message will warn you about the new versions for FWCloud-UI, FWCloud-API and FWCloud-Websrv packages. Say yes to run the update process and your FWCloud platform will be updated in a matter of a few minutes.
