We’re proud to announce the release of FWCloud 2.5.0. This new version delivers powerful features, enhanced performance, and important fixes—making FWCloud faster, smarter, and more user-friendly than ever. Discover what’s new and start using it today.
ATTENTION: For this new FWCloud release a version of Node.js equal to or higher than 20 is required.
These are the new modules versions:
- FWCloud-API 2.5.0
- FWCloud-UI 2.5.0
FWCloud 2.5.0 introduces major improvements focused on API documentation, IPTables optimization, auditing, OpenVPN, and overall platform stability.
- One of the main additions is the new automatic OpenAPI documentation generation based on TSOA, including Redoc support and automated publishing through GitHub Actions.
- This release also adds a new optimized IPTables compilation mode available from firewall and cluster configuration panels, improving performance, rule organization, and policy installation times.
- The audit system has been significantly enhanced with request duration tracking, HTTP status visibility, detailed log viewers, improved filtering, and better handling of large datasets and responsive layouts.
- OpenVPN 2FA integration has also been improved by automatically adding auth-gen-token support and fixing the client 2FA installation workflow.
- In addition, realtime socket and WebSocket handling has been reinforced, cleanup processes during compile/install operations have been improved, several UI issues in tables and overlays have been fixed, and multiple npm dependencies including Axios have been updated.
Update procedure
For DEB/RPM packages based Linux distributions simply update the FWCloud-API and FWCloud-UI packages by means of your Linux distribution package management tools.
To update Docker containers when new versions of FWCloud are available follow the next instructions published in the corresponding section of the FWCloud website.
For the FWCloud-Installer script installations, the next time you access your FWCloud platform by means of the web user interface, a popup message will warn you about the new versions for FWCloud-UI, FWCloud-API and FWCloud-Websrv packages. Say yes to run the update process and your FWCloud platform will be updated in a matter of a few minutes.
